What does Interview Roo help you do?
Interview Roo keeps a coding problem and its conversation together. Capture the statement and starter code, check the image previews, and send a question. Read the solution approach separately from the implementation, then ask a follow-up when a constraint changes.
| Your task | Roo workflow | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Understand a coding prompt | Preview screenshots and send them together. | Include the constraints and function signature. |
| Discuss a spoken follow-up | Read captions and ask about a specific turn. | Correct transcription and speaker roles when needed. |
| Explain a solution | Review the approach alongside the answer. | Trace an edge case and justify complexity. |
| Review your practice | Open saved answers by session and export the record. | Enable history before the session you want to save. |
How does screenshot practice work?
- Put the complete problem on screen, including constraints and starter code.
- Capture and preview the images. Remove unrelated images before sending.
- Send the question and read the proposed approach before using the code.
- Ask a focused follow-up, such as “What changes if the input is sorted?”
Programming language is detected from the question and starter code. The screenshot practice guide shows what to include and how to check an answer.
Can it handle spoken questions and different languages?
Interview Roo can use microphone or computer audio to produce live captions and contextual answers. Captions stay in one chronological conversation. You can correct a role beside a turn and ask about that specific sentence when automatic question detection misses the point.
Interface and interview-language preferences support multilingual use. Check the language preference before starting a session; speech recognition, role suggestions, and generated answers can be inaccurate. Read the transcript and answer guide for a short setup check.
What does the public Mac version include?
- A workspace for screenshots, captions, and AI answers.
- A separate solution-approach section and contextual follow-ups.
- Session history and export when history is enabled.
- Multilingual preferences and keyboard controls shown in the app.
The public release is for Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. Windows and Android downloads are not part of this release. Microphone and screen or system-audio capture require the relevant Mac permissions and a connected input device.
How much does Interview Roo cost?
Interview Roo offers a $5 one-day pass, a $20 monthly subscription, and a $99 annual subscription, billed in USD. The day pass does not renew; monthly and annual subscriptions renew until canceled. Plans have usage limits. Review the current plans and checkout details before paying.
Want to practice before downloading? The free Big O exercise runs in your browser without an account. It uses six prepared examples; it does not analyze arbitrary code or call an AI model.
Does Roo guarantee correct or invisible answers?
No. Generated answers need to be checked for correctness, missing constraints, and complexity assumptions. This website does not guarantee invisibility to screen-sharing, recording, or monitoring software. Use transcription, capture, and AI assistance only where the assessment or meeting rules allow them.
